Jeff has attended multiple National Genealogical Society conferences and is a former editor of the Lowcountry Courier, the newsletter of the Charleston Chapter of the South Carolina Genealogical Society. He served as president of the Scottish Society of Charleston from 2016 to 2017. Currently, he is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogy Society, the South Carolina Historical Society, and the International Society for British Genealogy and Family History.
